    • Alpha House held its annual barbecue and auction Saturday night to raise money to keep Taft's shelter for battered and homeless women open. Guests enjoyed a dinner of tri-tip and chicken and then bid on items donated for the auction. In a special moment, Faith Mitchell was honored for her service to Alpha House.Mitchell is retiring and leaving the community
