- Benjamin Victor's new sculptures at Oilworker Monument unveiled
- Posted Oct. 24, 2011 midnight
- Mayor Randy Miller called it "The biggest, baddest, tallest bronze monument" in the western United States. Well, now its got a woman's touch and a family feel after bronze figures of a mother and her son were unveiled Saturday at the Oilworker Monument. Sculptor Benjamin Victor used his son as a model for the young boy, but also said there's a bit of himself in the bronze art work. The addition of the mother and bringing lunch to one of the three bronze oil workers caps 51/2 years of work on the project, which was unveiled a year ago to open Taft's 100th birthday celebration.
