Taft man wanted for January robbery



Kern County Sheriff’s deputies have made one arrest and are seeking a second suspect in connection with a  violent Jan. 27 Ford City home invasion robbery .

Deputies arrested one suspect,  John Jones, 26, at 5501 Norris Road in Bakersfield at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jones  booked into the Kern County jail on charges of robbery, burglary, and assault with a deadly weapon.

The second suspect, Brian James McAllister, 26, is still at large.


He is described as a while male standing 6-1 and weighing 170 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes.

Deputies caution that McAllister should be considered dangerous and should not be approached or confronted.

Anyone with information about McAllister is urged to call 911 or  or contact the Kern County sheriff at 861-3110.

McAllister will be featured in this week’s Taft's Most Wanted in the Friday Midway Driller.


He is wanted on charges of burglary, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Jones and McAllister are accused of breaking into a home on the 100 block of Harrison Street in late January and robbing and beating  three men.

They were armed with a stick and a knife. The suspects stole $40 and a cell phone.

Two men of the victims  needed hospital for treatment of their injuries.
