Teenage girl is third home invasion suspect

Kern County Sheriff's deputies arrested a third suspect in a Jan. 27 home invasion robbery. She is identified as 19-year-old  Evelyn Owens of Taft. She was arrested in Ford City on Saturday.


Sheriff's Sgt. Martin Downs said Owens was involved  the robbery with two men already in custody, Brian James McAllister, 26, and John Jacob Jones, also 26.


Bakersfield Police arrested s McAllister at about 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.


He was taken into custody near the intersection of Chester Avenue and 37th Street, Kern County Sheriff’s Sgt. Martin Downs said.


“He was just walking down the street,” Downs said.


McAllister was wanted on a warrant charging him with armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary, the same charges  Owens and Jones faces.


Jones, who was arrested Monday night at an apartment on Norris Road in Bakersfield, is being held on $250,000 bail.


McAllister , Owens and Jones are suspected of committing a home invasion robbery on Jan. 27 on the 100 block of Harrison Street.


Three men were robbed and two were beaten and required hospital treatment.
