Suspect to appear in court on Monday
Two felony counts of lewd conduct with a child under age 14 and two misdemeanor charges of annoying a child have been field against a taft man arrested Wednesday.
Michael Edward Hale, 46, was first arrested on four felony counts.
He is being held in the Kern County Sheriff’s Central receiving facility on $150,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
His bail was originally set at $353,000.
Hale also faces one count of possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
Taft Police arrested Hale three months after the case was first opened.
Lt. Ed Whiting released few details about the case, only saying that the alleged molestations had occurred over a period of time and involved more than one victim.
Police served a search warrant at Hale’s home on Wednesday and arrested Hale a short distance way after the suspect drove off when he saw officers, according to Whiting.
