It was the biggest Jump for Heart event ever at the school best known for jumping rope.

Nearly all of the more than 175 students that attend Taft primary took their turns jumping rope for the American Heart Association last week.

Sally Johnson, who leads the jumping program, said 168 students in kindergarten through third grade jumped over ropes both big and small on the school playground Friday.

Jump for Heart is a national educational and fundraising program.
