Lady Wildcats remain perfect in league play

Just a few days after squeaking out a win, the Taft junior varsity softball team was able to breathe a little easier after they defeated the Bakersfield Christian Eagles 9-2 at home.

“We really capitalized on their errors,” said Taft coach Michelle Gerry. “Our team was real aggressive on the bases and it was great to see them do better as a whole.”

With the victory, Taft improves to 5-0 in the South Sequoia League.

Taft’s Caitlyn Woosley went 2-for-2 in the game with three runs scored and one run batted in. Courtney Voliva was 2-for-3 with one run scored and one run batted in.
