Lady Cougars score four goals in victory

Taft College moved into second place in the Central Valley Conference women’s soccer standings with a 4-0 whitewash of West Hills-Lemoore Friday on the home field.

Maria Arroyo, a sophomore midfielder/forward from Lancaster, scored two goals and had an assist for the Cougars.

The goals were her eighth and ninth on the season and her assist was the fifth of the year.
Maria Ibarra scored her second goal of the season and Natice Nield her third.

Elena Drake had two assists to push her into the team lead with six, and Stephany Foster added her third assist.

Goalie Dani Foster had two saves.

The Cougars, who are 6-7-2 on the season and 2-1 in the conference, are in second place in the CVC behind undefeated Fresno (3-0-0, 9-1-6).

TC is in San Luis Obispo today to play Cuesta College (0-8-3), will host Santa Barbara City College (7-2-5) next Tuesday at 1 p.m.  Both are non-conference matches.

The next conference outing will be Nov. 6 in Visalia against College of the Sequoias.
