Game takes place Tuesday
Adviser Eric Newton and his Taft High School Associated Student Body officers wanted to come up with a way to give more people a chance to watch the Wildcat varsity basketball team, which is on a roll.
They decided on free admission.
“We have a really good team this year,” he said. “Attendance has been pretty low, so we thought we would offer free admission to see if we can pack both sides of the gym.”
The freebie will be next Tuesday for what will be the team’s biggest game of the season.
The Wildcats will take on the Tehachapi Warriors at 6:30 p.m. in Mullen Gym.
The teams are tied for first place in the South Sequoia League.
Taft has won 10 games in a row.
The Wildcats are 15-5 overall and 2-0 in the SSL.
