No lewd conduct charges filed against Anglin. Bail reduced to $25,000
A Taft man arrested on felony child molestation charges is now facing only misdemeanor charges after he was arraigned Friday.
Wiley Lafayette Anglin is now charged with two counts of sexual battery (defined in court records “as touching a person intimately for sexual arousal”) and two counts of annoying a child, all misdemeanors.
His bail was reduced from $115,000 to $25,000. He was still in custody Friday afternoon, according to Kern County jail records.
Anglin, 50, was arrested Tuesday night by Taft Police and accused of molesting two 12-year-old girls. He was originally charged with two felony counts of committing lewd acts with a child under age 14.
Anglin is scheduled to be back in court on Feb. 5 for a pretrial conference.
