Two suspects point guns at clerk, flee toward alley with money

Two men armed with handguns robbed a Taft business Saturday night.

Details are still sketchy, but Taft Police received a report of an armed robbery that just occurred at Artz Liquors, 127 Kern St., about 8:15 p.m.

Taft Police Sgt. Mike Eveland said the female clerk told officers that the two suspects, described as Hispanic males dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks over their faces, entered the store from the rear door.

The suspects came to the counter and demanded money.

Both men pointed handguns at her, Eveland said.

They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

They went out a rear door and were last seen running towards the alley in the 100 block of Kern.
