It's second stabbing conviction in three years for Miramontes. Sentencing is April 12

The suspect in a Feb. 27 stabbing has pled no contest to one count of assault with a deadly weapon.

Isaac John Miramontes, 22 entered the plea in Kern County Superior Court on March 15.

He will be sentenced on April 12.

This will be the second conviction for a stabbing for Miramontes in three years.
In 2007, Miramontes, then 19, was convicted of a stabbing during a fight at the Community Center.

He was arrested on March 10, 2007 after a stabbing left two men injured.

He pleaded no contest to one count of assault with a deadly weapon in a plea agreement for that charge.
He was sentenced to six months in jail and placed on probation for three years in the 2007 case.

Taft Police arrested Miramontes on Feb. 28, minutes after Michael Patterson, 24 was stabbed during a fight in the 200 block of East San Emidio Street.

Miramontes fled the scene but was located and arrested by Taft Police a short time later.

He is being held in the Kern County Sheriff’s Lerdo pretrial facility on $61,000 bail while awaiting sentencing.
