Ceremony starts at 8 p.m. It's part of a big week for graduates
Taft Union High School will hold its graduation ceremonies in Martin Memorial Stadium at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2.
The ceremony will include a multimedia presentation where the audience may watch graduates projected on two giant screens as they receive their diplomas. The presentation will also include still photos of the graduates.
Copies of the multimedia presentation, created by the video production classes, will be available for $8 at the business office during normal working hours.
Families and guests are instructed to leave noisemakers and air horns at home.
Guests with balloons are asked to sit at the top of the stadium so they don't obstruct views.
"We want this to be a dignified ceremony," Superintendent-Principal Mark Richardson explained, "so that the focus is on our graduating seniors."
Wednesday will begin with a breakfast for seniors only in the cafeteria from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Graduation practice will be from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Graduating seniors must be at the south bleachers by the swimming pool by 7 p.m. Main gates for guests will open at 7 p.m.
The Grad Night trip to Disneyland will leave from the bus garage at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 3, and return about 10 a.m. Friday.
