Taft man faces three molestation charges, several other counts

A Taft man arrested nearly 18 months ago on child molestation charges is scheduled to go on trial Monday in Bakersfield.
Michael  Hale, 47, is charged with three counts of lewd acts with a child under age 14, possession of child pornography, three misdemeanor counts of annoying a child and one count of possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
He has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Hale was first arrested by Taft Police on April 22, 2009. He was freed on bail for a time, then taken back into custody on July 15, 2009, when additional counts were filed.
He is being held on $1,000,000.
His trial is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. in Dept. 1 of  the metro division of Kern County Superior Court.
