Signups will begin Saturday, Jan.29

The basketball season might be in full swing but in just a couple of weeks the West Side Little League will be holding registration for the upcoming season.

There are a total of five signups with the first one taking place on Saturday, January 29 from noon to 7 p.m. The second one will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m., while the second one will be from 5-8 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 3. The fourth opportunity will be on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 1-7 p.m.

The final signup will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 5-8 p.m.

All of the signups will be held at the Chevron Valley Credit Union Board room.

The cost to signup is $40 per person or $60 as a family.  At the signups, Parents or relatives need to bring a copy of a complete birth certificate (no abstracts) and three proofs of residency (like a driver’s license, PG&E/water/cable bill, medical insurance, car registration or vehicle registration.

If anyone is interested in volunteering as a managers, coaches, umpire, scorekeeper, consessions stand team parent or helper, you need to fill out a volunteer aplication and bring a valid ID/license. Forms for both registration and volunteer are also available at

Tryouts for 8-12 year olds for the majors and minors levels will take place on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb.26 from 2-4 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. All three tryouts will take place at Little League Field No.1 and players need to arrive 15 minutes early.

You can also purchase pancake tickets for $40 per player, sell the tickets and keep the money. For example, for one kid at $80 you get back $40. For two kids at $140 you get back $80. For three kids at $180 you get back $120.
