Wildcats pull out six point victory over Shafter

Home cooking seems to fit the Taft varsity boys basketball team perfectly after the Wildcats defeated the Wasco Tigers 47-41 Friday night.


With the victory, Taft extends its winning streak to two while improving to 8-11 overall and 2-1 in the South Sequoia League. The Wildcats also have won 8 out of their last 13 games.


“This a big week for us, because we’re on the road against Tehachapi and Arvin,” said Taft coach Jeff Hughes. “If we can get those, we’ll be in great shape heading into our bye next Tuesday.”


The Wildcats return to action tonght when they travel up the mountain to face Tehachapi. The game begins at 6:30 p.m.
