Event begins at 9 a.m.

Dalton Botts will sign his letter of intent to play football at Miami University tomorrow (Wednesday) with a bit of fanfare.
Botts, who powered the Taft High Wildcats to a Valley Division IV section championship in 2007 and spent last season playing at Moorpark College, was recruited by the BCS school as a punter.

He was ranked No. 1 in the nation on two recruiting polls.

The event will be held at 9 a.m. at his church – Westside Believers Fellowship, located at the corner of Main Street and Highway 33 across from the Kmart shopping center.

The public is invited.

Botts will talk about his football-playing career from junior football through community college and his decision to attend college across the country.

He was also recruited by USC, LSU, Arizona and Texas A&M.

Botts had originally committed to play at LSU, but that university withdrew its scholarship offer following penalties imposed by the NCAA for recruiting violations.  The infractions did not involve the former Wildcat star.
