She was arrested on May 3 at city yard
A Southern California woman received a nine-month jail sentence for attempting to drop off drugs for inmates at the Taft Community Correctional Facility.
Eleanor Cecilia Nunez, 31, received her sentence Wednesday in Taft Branch of Kern County Superior Court.
Nunez pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance for sale at a May 17 hearing.
She has been held in custody since her arrest.
She was also placed on 3 years probation, fined $270 and ordered to register as a narcotics offender
Nunez, from the City of Industry, and a 17-year-old boy, were arrested by Taft Police on May 3 after one or both allegedly climbed a fence topped with razor wire at the Taft City Corporation Yard.
Officer said they believe the pair were there to drop methadone and marijuana in an area where it could be picked up by CCF inmates who work at the yard.
Approximately 70 grams of marijuana and methadone tablets were found when officers searched the yard.
