VIRGIL O. HOLT

Virgil O. Holt passed away June 9, 2011 in Bakersfield Ca. Virgil is survived by his pet dog Suzie, son Chuck Holt, daughter Cindy “Sissy” McClard, brother Bill and wife Terrie Holt of Washington, sister in laws Diane and Sue Holt of Taft, brother in law Ray Ware of LA, many grankids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews. And many friends that he considered as family.

Virgil is preceded in death by his parents Otter and Tavia, brothers Bobby-Gean-Jimmy-Charles, sister Rhonda Holt and Patsy Ware, son Ricky and Ron Holt.

Virgil liked to go to casinos and watch his great grandkids play baseball.

Virgil was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elk Lodge & Petroleum Club. Virgil worked for UCLA and was a janitor and later as maintenance for about 3 years then moved to Santa Cruz and worked in a shoe store and Safeway for 6 years. Then back to Taft to work as a bartender, oil field and truck driving for over 40 years.

When Virgil got diabetes he started picking up cans and bottles to make ends meet. Virgil never met a stranger. He never said good bye, it was always toodles.
