Second crash leaves one injured at Midway Road and North Lincoln

Two late afternoon traffic accidents slowed traffic and caused considerable damage Wednesday.
The most spectacular took place about 4 p.m. on Tenth Street in front of the soccer fields near Buena Vista High School.
A large U-Haul truck going southbound on Tenth just south of Irene Street suddenly veered into the southbound lanes and up over the curb where it knocked down three large trees and more than 100 feet of chain link fence before landing on its side in the grass just north of Sandy Creek.
The man and woman in the truck escaped injury.
Taft Police said drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
About 30 minutes later, four vehicles, including two pickups, a sedan and SUV were involved at a crash on Midway Road at North Lincoln Street.
The only was injury reported was suffered by a woman in the SUV.
She was transported from the scene by Hall Ambulance with minor to moderate injuries.
Traffic on Midway Road was blocked at Highway 119  on North Lincoln was blocked at Hawthorne for more than an hour.
