They recover an estimated $20,000 in property from Lost Hills burglary, plus 17 grams of meth

Kern County Sheriff's deputies  conducting a follow up investigation to a recent commercial burglary arrested a Derby Acres man on drug and theft charges, recovering thousands of dollars of stolen items, according to Sgt. Dana Weighorst-Albro.
Deputies contacted John Wayne Gates, 47, at his residence, located in the 23000 block of Cloud Av, in Derby Acres on Tuesday, the sergeant said.
During a search of Gates residence, deputies located approximately 17 grams of methamphetamine, packaging material and other drug paraphernalia.  Additionally, an estimated $20,000 worth of stolen tools and car parts were also recovered at the residence.
The recovered property was taken during a recent burglary of a commercial building in the 20000 block of Highway 46 in Lost Hills.
Gates was arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility for receiving known stolen property, Possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gates' bail is currently set at $75,000.
