Largest grass fire burned 15 acres when firefighters arrived
Kern County and Bureau of Land Management firefighters were sent to take on three grass fires that broke out on Elk Hills Tuesday evening.
Downed power lines are believed to be the cause of all three fires.
The fires are in the same general area east of Elk Hills Road and South of Skyline Road near Gate 3.
The fires were reported just before 6 p.m.
The largest fire was 15 acres in size when firefighters arrived and there are two smaller fires burning that were about two acres each, according to reports from the scene.
