Isaac Miramontes has pled not guilty to assault with a deadly weapon in connection with Aug. 6 stabbing
The man charged in the Aug. 6 stabbing of a Taft man will go on trial in November.
Isaac John Miramontes, 23 is being held in the Kern County Sheriff's Lerdo pretrial facility.
Miramontes turned himself in on Aug. 17, 11 days after the stabbing of Zachary Scott Spencer at a home on the 600 block of San Emidio Street.
Spencer, 35, recovered from a serious chest wound.
Miramontes, who has two prior convictions for stabbings, is charged with assault with deadly weapon and battery causing great bodily harm.
His trial is set to begin on Nov. 7
He has pled not guilty to both charges.
A second suspect, Dwight Canady, 27, was charged with complicity in the stabbing but those charges were dropped at a preliminary hearing.
Miramontes is being held without bail.
