Sedan crashes into front of welding truck. Both drivers injured
Two men were seriously injured in a head-on collision on Highway 33 Friday afternoon.
Details are sketchy, but California Highly Patrol officers at the scene said a sedan going north on the highway collided with a welding truck going southbound.?The impact took place in the southbound lanes.
The accident scene was about 3 miles north of Fellows just south of Randall Road.
Both men were the drivers and are from the Taft area. The were both conscious and alert at the scene. There wre no other parties involved
The injuries were described as moderate to major by rescuers.
Both men went to Bakersfield hospitals for treatment.
Highway 33 was blocked for more than a half-hour after the 3 p.m. crash wand traffic was down to one lane for more than an hour after that.
