Wasco man's truck went over double yellow line, CHP says
The California Highway Patrol says the survivor of a head-one collision on Elk Hills Road Monday afternoon may have caused the crash.
A news release from the CHP said 22-year-old Ernesto Rosales of Wasco was southbound on Elk Hills road behind a third vehicle when his truck went across the double yellow lines and collided head-on with the northbound Nissan Altima driven by Andres Elizondo, 27, of McFarland.
Elizondo was killed in the crash.
Rosales suffered major injuries, the CHP said.
He was pulled from the wreckage by passers-by just as the truck started to burn, the CHP and firefighters said.
He was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
The accident is still under investigation.
