  • Born in Taft, CA, David moved with his family to Bakersfield when he was 5 years old. He attended Panama Elementary School and transferred to Loudon Elementary when it opened in 1990. He was thrilled to be with the first class to attend the brand new school.  David graduated from Earl Warren Junior High in 1995 and attended Ridgeview High School where he graduated with the class of 1999. During his high school years, Dave played on the freshman football team and played Junior Varsity soccer.
As a youngster, David played baseball with the Southwest Little League, AYSO soccer, and participated in a bowling league at Southwest Lanes. David’s passion for soccer was his motivation for playing in an indoor league as a young adult. He had a wicked sense of humor; many of his friends and family experienced his fondness for cracking jokes and making others laugh.
Known for his love of street racers, Dave was constantly working on his car. He loved building sound systems and was always wrapped up in improving his latest creation. His choice of music was often referred to by his family as “that loud obnoxious noise”. Fishing was another hobby that David enjoyed every chance he got and he especially treasured the deep sea fishing trips with his dad and brother, Terry.
David was employed by TerraChem in Taft as a chemical blending technician. He took pride in his work and pride in the company he worked for.
It was obvious that David had the most pride in his children, Stacy, Matilda, Maxwell and Ayden; the time he spent with them meant more to him than words can describe. Dave’s greatest quality was his heart of gold.
David was preceded in death by sisters, Tamara and Paige and brother, Joseph. He leaves many to cherish his memory including 2 sons, 2 daughters, and parents, Minor (Tom) and Linda Arnold, brothers and sisters, Terry, April, Alisha, Samantha, Corbin, Jared and Hope as well as many other relatives and friends.
