Clarissa Rivas named most valuable player
The Taft varsity softball team put the final touches to their non-league season Tuesday by winning the Fowler Tournament.
Taft resumed their tournament run Monday by defeating Caruthers 4-0 and Mendota 13-0.
Tracy led the charge on offensive with a 3-for-3 performance while Clarissa Rivas led the charge by going 2-for-3 with a three run home run against Mendota.
Taft kept their run going Tuesday morning with a 1-0 victory over Fowler. Emberson was 2-for-3 while Pilgrim struck out seven batters and allowed one hit.
Later that day, Taft defeated Washington Union 14-3 for the second time in the tournament .
Taft had their big ininings in the second and fifth innings with four and three respectively.
Tracy was 4-for-4 in the game with a single, two doubles and a home run while driving in five runs.
