A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in New Hope Temple, 308 Harrison St., Taft for Mickey Wayne Woods, 44. Pastor Skip Hinton will lead the gathering. Mickey was born in Taft on October 14, 1967 and passed away in Bakersfield on May 15, 2012. He was well known for “making it happen!” For 26 years, he was “making it happen” in the oilfields ending with his dream job of consulting. And, he was making it happen with his family—by fishing, hunting barbequeing and off-road riding. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Acres. He was predeceased by his Grandpa, Ira Rowe, Grandma, Bernidene Smith, Grandpa, Baylis Woods, Grandma, Doris Woods and Uncle, Ronnie Woods. Mickey is survived by his daughters, Cortney Coleman and her husband, Charlie, Whitney and Natalie Woods; grandson, Brody Gullo; father, and his wife, Rickey and Dora Woods; mother and her husband, Vickie and Sam Gregory; sister and her husband, Sherri and Neal Sims; nephew, John Sims; niece, Amy Sims; Grandpa, Cleo Smith; two step-brothers, Jamie and Tim Gregory all of Taft; his aunt, Linda Pilkington and family of Reno; and uncles, Gary Rowe and family of Taft and Roger Woods of Bakersfield.
