After high school, he joined the Air Force. He proudly served 2 tours in Vietnam, earning numerous medals. He was discharged in June 1969, and August 1, 1969, married his sweetheart, Martha Russell.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 42 yeas, Martha; daughter Jennifer Craft; brother Steve and wife Linda; granddaughter Nevaeh; grandson Arik; nephew Steve and wife Aspen; niece Stephanie and husband Brett. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Craft; mother Betty Craft; brother Robert Wayne Craft and daughter Kari Craft.
Dennis was a believer and was baptized along with his wife in 2004. He went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2012.
Dennis attended college in San Jose where he studied engineering. After college, he spent his life in the oilfields. At one point, he had his own company, Craft’s Construction. He also had C&C operators with his brother, Steve Craft. He retired in 2011 after many years as a safety engineer.
Anyone who knew Dennis remembers his sense of humor. He was fun and ornery in a nice way. Dennis loved to bass fish and was in the Taft Bass Club for many years. He was on the board of Laborers of the Harvest and was proud to be helping feed the needy. He just recently was sworn in to be on the Cemetery Board and was looking forward to serving the community.
Dennis touched so many lives. His legacy of integrity, loyalty, humor and love will be in our hearts forever.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 26th at First Baptist Church, 220 North Street, in Taft.
