Graveside funeral services for Dennis Stafford Kirschner will be held at Taft Seventh Day Adventist Church, 401 Harrison Street, Taft Ca at 1:00pm. Sunday, May 27th, 2012.
Dennis passed away peacefully at his home after a heroic battle with cancer. He was born in Taft, Ca to Ernest Dennis Kirschner and Beatrice Aline (Stafford) Kirschner. At age twelve, his family moved to southern California where he graduated from Downey High School, attended community college, met and married his high school sweetheart, had a son, and co-owned Kirschner Tire Service with his father. In 1984, he returned to Taft and opened Razor’s Edge Barber Shop on Center Street. Dennis served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jim Ed and Jo Stafford of Taft, Uncles James and Mark Stafford, and parents Ernest Dennis Kirschner and Beatrice Aline Kirschner of Downey, Ca. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Charlene Adele Kirschner of Taft, brother Robert Wayne Kirschner, sisters Karen Jo Kirschner and Katrina Jill (Kirschner) Castra, brother-in-law Gerry Castro f Hemet, Ca uncle Wayne and aunt Eileen Stafford of Hamilton, Mt, son Ernest Dennis Kirschner, daughter-in-law Sarah Elaine (Lopez) Kirschner and granddaughter Tori Dakota Kirschner of Bakersfield, who, on the night of her grandfather’s passing, took her own father by the hand, led him to the front yard, pointed to a blinking star and said simply, “There’s Grampy.”
