  • Ken Scudder was born April 24, 1950 in Springfield, VT. His life began as a mischievous boy, followed by becoming a brave young solider for the United States Army in 1969. Ken loved to ride motorcycles in the 1970’s and became a father and family man in 1976. He worked hard and selflessly for his family for many years and adored his wife and best friend, Lynn. Ken enjoyed surfing and had a strong affection and respect for animals, rescuing every injured animal that crossed his path, big or small. He was truly a cowboy at heart, roping, riding and tending to his horses in his free time. Ken deeply loved the Lord and trusted him in all things. We know that he has now heard the words: Well done thy good and faithful servant.
Son, brother, husband, father and friend, our lives will never be the same. We will cherish your memory, and we will carry your humble, kind, simple ways in our hearts and actions until we are reunited.
Ken is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Scudder. He is survived by his loving wife Lynn Branch, mother, Olive Scudder, siblings Rose Dwy, Rae Gatlin, Phyllis Wormell, Russell Scudder. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law Jeremy and Gina Scudder, daughter Rachelle Scudder, his 5 grandchildren Iczaa, Kamille, Jayleigh, Sayler and Taryn, close family friend Cheryl Miller, as well as extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 2550 Jewetta Ave, Bakersfield CA at 11:00 a.m. on June 18th, 2012 with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ken’s name to the non-profit horse rescue facility close to his heart: Bit O’ Heaven Ranch, 13453 Olen Ave, Bakersfield CA 93311.
