Carson Rodart wins lone race

It was the the final meet of the regular season for the Taft Tigersharks Tuesday afternoon. They went out the same way they came when several swimmers had strong placements in a B meet hosted by Rio Bravo Greeley.

Carson had the lone victory for Taft by winning the six year old boys 25-yard freestyle with a time of 27.61.

Mickaela Valenti had a string of second place finishes. The first came in the 12-year old girls 50-yard butterfly where she had a time of 55.15. Valenti's next second place finish was in the 50-yard freestyle with a time 40.46. She completed the string by finishing second in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 52.96.

Ashley Pence was second in the 11-year old girls 50-yard butterfly with a time of 48.15. She was also fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 41.10.

Robert Heimiller was second in the nine year old boys 50-yard backstroke with a time of 51.84. Heimiller was also fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke and the 50-yard freestyle with respective times of 1:03.16 and 44.24.

Haiden Mitchell also had success by finishing third in the six year old boys 25-yard backstroke and 25-yard breastsstroke with times of 38.10 and 52.26. Mitchell had a fifth place finish in the 25-yard freestyle with a time of 28.36.

Jaxon Mitchell had a string of fifth place finishes. One of the placements came in the seven year old boys 25-yard butterfly where he had a time of 35.43. The second one was in the 25-yard freestyle with a time of 26.18. The final fifth place finish came in the 25-yard breaststroke where he had a time of 40.07.

Alexandria Valenti was seventh in the eight year old girls 25-yard butterfly where she had a time of 34.07.

There will be another meet this Saturday with the Kern Council Championships at Salvucci Aquatic Center at Garces Memorial High School. The meet begins at 9 a.m.
