Football, tennis and cross country teams find different ways to stay cool while practicing

In a couple of weeks the sports scene will ramp up. Until then the Taft High sports teams will be finding ways to work on improving their game while beating the extreme, triple digit heat.

For the junior varsity and varsity tennis teams practice has been moved up to 8-10 a.m., with the players taking water breaks every half hour. Meanwhile, the football teams have a cooling station setup with the players spending time in it.

The cross country team found a different way to beat the heat by spending this past week at a camp at the coast.
