He is one of six football players vying for arena bowl spot in week one voting
Not much has gone right for the Taft varsity football team so far this season.
However, Wildcat wide receiver Steven Gee has offered a bright spot by being selected as one of several players for week one voting for the US Army Arena Bowl game.
Gee along with Bakersfield High’s Kyle Pope, Garces Cruise Adams, West High’s Micah Mitchell, Frontier’s Triton Douglas and Northwest Christian’s Michael Pope are vying for two spots. The two players with the most votes move on. So far Adams has 35 while Gee has 5.
Weekly winners will receive an army backpack, an army strong aluminum bottle and get to compete in the US Army Arena Bowl next April according to the website.
There are several changes to the voting this year. In order to vote, go to www.bakersfieldnow.com/hsfootball and click on vote for your US Army All-Star. Also you must be logged in to vote. Each person can vote only one time a day. Voting runs until Friday at noon.
