Winner will get a spot in US Army all-star

Taft High football fans have another opportunity to vote in a player to the US Army Arena Bowl this week after Wildcat quarterback Vaughn Richardson was one of six players chosen for the possibility of playing in the game next spring.

Richardson is going up against Tehachapi's Dalton Scaggs, Ridgeview's Brandon Tripp, Boron High's Austin Fink, Bakersfield High's Jermaine Elvin and West High's Kamron McKinnley.

So far Richardson, who is 33-for-91 for 680 yards passing this season, is in the lead with 75 votes while Mc Kinnley has 62. Scaggs has 17 while and Elvin has 4 and and Tripp has 3. Fink has 1.

The top two vote getters will move on with the winner getting an Army backpack, Army Strong aluminum water bottle and a spot in the US Army all-star game.
