Victim wounded in chest and hand in 500 block of B Street. Suspect escapes
Investigators say the man stabbed in Taft Heights was attacked when he confronted a man in his home.
The victim suffered a stab wound to his chest and hand during the altercation inside a house at 526 B Street.
Senior Deputy Kevin George said the victim told deputies he had returned home and found "an unknown person in his house."
"They confronted each other, an argument ensued, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim," George said.
The victim was stabbed in the chest and in the hand in the struggle.
He was taken to Kern Medical center.
His injuries didn't appear to life-threatening, George said.
Deputies currently have a limited description of the suspect.
George said the suspect was described as a white male wearing a white tank top.
He reportedly fled to the alley north of the home.
Parkview School was briefly placed on lockdown after the stabbing was reported about 1:30 p.m.
A deputy was at KMC interviewing the victim to obtain a better description of the suspect and more information.
