Man stabbed in Taft Heights

Kern County Sheriff's deputies are on the scene of a stabbing in Taft Heights.

Few details are available at this point.

Deputies were dispatched to 526 B Street after receiving a report of a stabbing about 1:30 p.m.

The victim, a man, was taken from the house and transported by ambulance to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.

He appeared to be conscious when he was taken out on a stretcher but his condition was not immediately disclosed

Taft Police are assisting in the search for the suspect.

Parkview School was placed on lockdown for a short time after the stabbing but that has since been lifted.
