  • TUHS homecoming week celebrations underway

  • Taft Union High School will conclude its homecoming week celebrations with the crowning of the queen prior to the varsity game, which starts at 7 p.m. Friday. The parade and crowning of the queen will begin at 6.
    Princesses are: Jennifer Chamale, Mikaela Davis, Kayla Schuylar, Stephanie Garcia-Tweedy and Chanel Tremain.
    The prince candidates are: Mitchell Emberson, Jeremy Harmer, Alex LeClair, Vaughn Richardson, Miguel Rodriguez and Junior Tuuamalemalo. There are six princes because of a tie in voting. The king will be crowned at the Powder Puff football game 7 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Memorial stadium. Admission costs $2.
    The senior, junior, sophomore and freshmen floats will parade with the homecoming king and queen during the varsity halftime show.
    The homecoming dance will be held after the game in Mullen gym. Cost is $10 without an Associated Student Body sticker or super sticker; $8 with an ASB sticker. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. and the dance concludes at midnight.
