Low-cost shots available on first-come, first-serve basis on Oct. 30
The Kern County Public Health Services Department is announcing the schedule for annual flu vaccination clinics.
These clinics are available for the low cost of only $13 to the general public and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
A clinic will be held in Taft on Tuesday, October 30 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the public health office, 315 North Lincoln.
“As a new flu season approaches, we are encouraging everyone ages six months and older receive their flu shot,” said Dr. Claudia Jonah, Kern County Health Officer. “However, it is still very important for those who are at highest risk to come for a vaccination. The high risk target groups for flu vaccine include children, those 65 and over, pregnant women, and anyone with an underlying chronic condition that weakens the immune system, such as HIV, asthma or cancer.” Persons with physical limitations who are unable to stand in lines should call (661) 321-3000 for an appointment.
