Christopher Matamoros had been in Taft's Most Wanted for stabbing in South Taft area, assault with a deadly weapon in the city

A Taft man wanted in connection with two assaults with a knife that took place in Taft last May has been arrested in Santa Cruz.
Christopher Matamoros is wanted by the Kern County Sheriff's Office in connection with a stabbing in South Taft on May 20 and by Taft Police for another incident that took place two days earlier in the city.
No one was injured in the city case, but a person was hospitalized with a leg wound in the South Taft incident
Matamoros, 26, has  been featured several times over the summer in Taft's Most Wanted.
Taft police were contacted Tuesday evening about Matamoros, and Lt. Pete Aranda confirmed Wednesday that Matamoros has been arrested in Santa Cruz on other charges.
Arrangements are being made to send Matamoros back to Kern County to face the local charges, Aranda said.
