Fun run and 5K were part of the Black-Gold Rush Saturday in ideal fall weather

Under ideal weather conditions for a race on a fall day, runners descended on A Street Park in Taft Saturday morning to compete in the Eighth annual Black-Gold Rush fun run and 5K.

The first race to kick off the event was the 5K race.

Julie Miller won the women's age 20-29 age group with a time of 22.28. Stephanie Payne was second with a time of 26.46 while Stephanie Wuco was third with a time of 31:03.

In the 30-39 age group, Emmy Herber was first with a of 26:04. Valerie Taylor was second with a time of 27:11. Crystal Moore and Darcy Bogle were tied for third with a time of 32:24. Leslie Wilmer was fourth.

Kimberly Wells won the women's 40-49 category with a time of 34:12.

Kathy Sharum won the women's 50-59 category with a time of 24:53.

Pam Douglas came in second with a time of 31:26 while Andrea Botts followed in third with a time of 42:46.

Roberto Lopez was first in the men's 19 and under race with a time of 21:38.

Corey Brackett won the men's 20-29 division with a time of 21:29 while Antonio Lopez was first in the 40-49 age division with a time of 24:44. Doug Taylor followed with a time of 26:16.

David Wells finished in first place in the 50-59 year old group with a time of 27:11. Chris Isbell was second in the division with a time of 27:16.

Fun run
In the kids division, nine-year old Macayla Wells finished with a time of 6:47. Seven year old Isabel Almanza was second with a time of 7:25 while five year old Zoe Taylor was third with a time of 8:13.

Overall, Jordan Points was first with a time of 4:54 while Jose Orozco was second with a time of 4:56.

Dirk Watson was third in a time of 5:5.

Doug Taylor was eighth with a time of 9:16 while Greg Maclean was ninth with a time of 9:25 Valerie Taylor was 10th with a time of 9:26.
