Police, aided by Kern County Sheriff's Narcotics Enforcement Team and Kern County Probation Department, serve warrant in South Taft
Taft Police, assisted by the Kern County Sheriff's Narcotics Enforcement Team and Kern County Probation Department, seized significant quantities of marijuana and methamphetamine and arrested four people on drug charges early Wednesday.
Officers served a search warrant at 1035 Stevens St in South Taft just after 7 a.m. and seized two marijuana plants, approximately a half-pound of processed marijuana, 9.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
The marijuana had an estimated street value of about $500, and the methamphetamine had an estimated street value of about $950, police said.
Officers said they also seized several narcotic pills and other paraphernalia that they described as indicative of narcotics sales.
Taft Police identified the suspects as Tamatha Moor, 46, Billy Darcy Jr. 40, and Alex Vasquez, 43.
They were arrested and booked into the Taft Jail on charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, conspiracy, being under the influence of a controlled substance, cultivation of marijuana, and maintaining a house for drug sales.
Vasquez was also found to have a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest and was determined to be a parolee at large.
The fourth suspect was identified as Leslie Clark, 33.
She was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
