Buttonwillow infant death investigation continues

An autopsy was performed  last week on a Buttonwillow infant who died Oct. 4 at her home but the cause of death is pending further studies.

 The girl, Helena Almanza, aged 4 months and 12 days, was found unresponsive in her bed the evening of Oct. 4, according to a coroner's office news release.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
