A convicted sex offender wanted for violating his parole was arrested in Derby Acres Thursday night by Kern County Sheriff's deputies and state parole agents.
Brandon Wescott, 21, has been the subject of a search for more than two weeks after he disabled his GPS monitoring bracelet.
He was located hiding in a home on Highway 33 Thursday night.
Law enforcement sources said Wescott, who was convicted of possession of child pornography, was found hiding in the attic of the home.
Sources told the Taft Midway Driller that when deputies and the parole agent went to the house on the 24000 block of Highway 33, the occupants initially refused to let them enter but changed their minds when the deputies said they were going to obtain a search warrant.
Wescott was found in the attic and arrested.
He was booked into the Sheriff's central receiving facility at 10:07 p.m. on a no-bail warrant for violating his parole.
