Volunteers will be fixing up five Taft area homes
The first-ever Project Restore, a community effort led by the Westside Christian Ministers Association, is just a few days away.
About 50 volunteers have been signed up so far and on Nov. 12 will be going to five homes in the community to help people fix up their homes, whether its repairing a sidewalk and making a home entry accessible to a wheelchair or fixing steps, gates, fences and painting.
Volunteers will need to be at organizational meeting at 6 p.m. next Thursday (Nov. 8) at the Calvary Temple, 630 Kern St.
Project Restore is being sponsored by Colston Construction, Erickson & Brown Funeral Home, Ken and Connie Redfield, Domino's Pizza, The Rotary Club of Taft, Cooper's True Value Home Center, the WSCMA and Taft District Chamber of Commerce.
