Taft College will take on College of the Sequoias in Al Baldock Cougar Sport Center

If you're going to Wednesday's Taft College vs. College of the Sequoias volleyball match you'll want to bring some food – not to eat but to contribute to the team's annual canned food drive.

"The admission price is canned food," said coach Kanoe Bandy. "It's our annual canned food drive for Thanksgiving baskets. We appreciate so much the help we get from the community."

First serve in the Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center is at 6 p.m.

The Cougars close out the regular season this week. After hosting Sequoias, they travel to Reedley College on Friday.

TC is in third place in the Central Valley Conference with an 8-4 record (14-8overall) and has beaten both Sequoias and Reedley in the first round of action.

On Friday, the Cougars swept West Hills College in Coalinga 25-15, 25-18, 25-10.

"We played very well," Bandy said. "We played very good defense. West Hills has a very good hitter, and we were able to slow her down. She was really busy. I think she hit about 70 percent of the balls for them."

Bandy was able to clear her bench.

"I was able to play everybody," she said. "I was glad we were able to do that."
