The West Side Junior Football League battled through a cold night and a Bakersfield team before falling to the Eagles 44-28 at Martin Memorial Stadium Saturday night.
Bakersfield controlled the first half by scoring 13 points in the first quarter and 23 in the second quarter. Meanwhile, Taft was held to a quarterback keeper in the first quarter to trail by 30 at the half.
Momentum turned around in the second half. While the Eagles were held to eight points, Taft scored 22 points (with one score coming in each quarter) in the same amount of time.
