Taft College landed seven players on the All-Central Valley Conference volleyball team.
The all-star team was selected in Taft Wednesday by a vote of the coaches.
Sophomore outside hitter Chanel Cantere, who leads the team in kills and defensive digs, and sophomore middle blocker Sina Mauga both made the first team.
Cantere ranks fourth in the state in kills and Mauga is the second best blocker in California.
Earning second team recognition were sophomore setter Rachel Kapesi, freshman outside hitter and defensive specialist Tiffany Mapusaga and sophomore middle blocker Ono Taotofi, the tallest player on the team at 6-2.
Sophomore middle blocker Madison Lawley and freshman setter Tyra Williams earned honorable mention recognition.
The Cougars finished 17-7 overall and 10-4 for third in the conference behind undefeated Fresno (14-0) and second place Porterville (12-2).
TC is ranked eighth in northern California and awaits Sunday’s playoff seeding meeting to see who and where they will play.
If TC remains in the No. 8 spot, the Cougars will host a playoff game next Tuesday in the Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center.
