He was one of four people arrested in drug raid at South Taft home

The last of four people arrested by Taft Police and a Kern County narcotics enforcement team to be sentenced got a two-year jail term for a drug trafficking charge.

Alex Vasquez, 43, was the only one of the four people arrested in the raid of a home on Stevens Street in October to face the drug trafficking charges.

The other three faced less severe counts.

Vasquez pleaded no contest to one count of possession of a controlled substance for sale of a controlled substance and five other counts, including cultivating marijuana. Possession of marijuana for sale and maintaining a house for the sale of narcotics, were dropped.

Vasquez was sentenced Tuesday in Taft branch of Kern County Superior Court.

The other defendants, Billy Jack Darcy Jr. and Tamatha Moore faced lesser charges after drug trafficking counts were dismissed.

A fourth woman, Leslie Dawn Clark, was only charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance.
They were arrested when officers served a search warrant at the South Taft home on Oct. 10
