October 2, 1927 - November 22, 2012
Rosie Abigail Farris went to be with Jesus on Thanksgiving Day of natural causes. After 50 days of hospitalization during which she celebrated her 85th birthday, she came home under hospice care two days before her passing.
Gail was born October 2, 1927 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Charles and Irene Phillips. Gail was the 6th of 8 children who were raised on a farm. At 16, she married Lonnie Farris, also a Texan, and quickly became Mom to 2 daughters and a son. In 1948, news of work in the California oil fields motivated them to head west. Leaving behind all of her furniture and household goods, Gail set up a new home and in the spring of 1950, their fourth child was born.
Gail placed very high value on family and spent her time and energy instilling wholesome, Godly values in her children. There were hard times and financial shortfalls for quite a number of years but Gail was able to use these times as character building experiences for the kids. She was directly involved in the grade school activities of her kids and was an active member in her local church.
She is survived by one sister, Juanell Green, (Pearland, TX); her 4 children: Joetta Sagaser (McKittrick) Lonna Posey (Taft), Ed Farris (Leona Valley, CA), and Bill Farris (Leona Valley, CA); 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many related by marriage who considered her „Mom, Grandma, or GG.‰
Gail faithfully served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for the duration of her life. It is because of her trust and faith in Him that her family and friends are assured that she in now in the Lord‚s presence and free of the pain that she endured for so many years.
